Notifications & Following
ChipAI.dev keeps you posted when things you care about change — your own submissions, and the people and resources you follow.
Where notifications show up
- The bell in the navbar shows your unread count and a quick dropdown.
- The notifications page lists everything in full, newest first. Unread items are marked with a dot; click one to open the linked resource (and mark it read), or use Mark all read.
When you get notified
Notifications fire on create, update and status changes (e.g. a submission being approved or rejected) of relevant resources. You'll be notified as the:
- Actor — a confirmation of your own action,
- Follower — when someone/something you follow posts or updates, or
- Moderator — when an item is pending review.
Channels
| Channel | How it works |
|---|---|
| In-app | Always on — the bell and notifications page. |
| Web push | Opt-in. Click Enable push notifications on the notifications page to get browser pushes even when the tab is closed (where supported). |
| Sent for key events when email is configured for the platform. |
Web push and email are best-effort — in-app notifications are the source of truth.
