Members & Roles
Manage your team from the organization page (/organizations/<slug>), in the
Members panel.
Roles
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including managing members and deleting the org |
| Admin | Manage members (add / change role / remove) |
| Member | Publish under the org with write access to its repos |
Adding and managing members is restricted to owners and admins (or a platform moderator+).
Add a member
In the Members panel, enter the person's username and pick a role, then add them. Invites are by username, so the person must have set their username in Profile Settings.
Change a role or remove
Owners/admins can change a member's role or remove them inline.
Last-owner protection. You can't demote or remove the last owner of an organization — promote someone else to owner first.
Forgejo team sync
Membership syncs to the org's Forgejo teams automatically:
- Owners & admins → the Owners team
- Members → a write-access members team
This is what lets members push to the org's repos.
